In January we look forward to learning more about the Multicultural Health Institute founded by Dr. Lisa Merritt. MHI seeks to level the healthcare playing field by promoting, educating, and insuring equal healthcare access and treatment for individuals and communities who are traditionally uninsured and receive a poor quality of care.

They provide a holistic approach to healing and wellness that involves the participation, education, and training of young people and adults in the community. MHI works closely with Sarasota’s Newtown minority population. Dr. Merritt will offer insight into the health disparities that effect our nation’s citizens.

Menu choices for this month are:

• Chicken Saltimbucco with Rosemary Roasted Potatoes and Chef’s Vegetables OR
• Salmon Teriyaki Salad
• Dessert: Tiramisu
• Menu choice NOT guaranteed past noon

The luncheon is held at Laurel Oak Country Club, 2700 Gary Player Blvd, Sarasota, FL. Travel 2 miles east of I-75 on Bee Ridge Road. Turn left at the light at Gary Player Blvd. Bent Tree will be on your right. Proceed past the guard shack, through one stop sign, and the club house will be on your left.

Social Hour starts at 11 with the program beginning promptly at noon.

Cost for Members is $24 each. Cost for non-members or walk-in’s is $26 each. You may pay by cash, Mastercard, Visa or with a check made payable to the DCS. Please fill out your checks ahead of time.
