We’re getting together – in person – with our friends at the Environmental Caucus of Sarasota County Democrats and we couldn’t be prouder!

 Reservations for this luncheon are required, no later than February 8th, as are proof of vaccination and wearing of masks.  We will provide boxed lunches to go for those who choose to keep their masks on.

 Join these two dynamic organizations and like-minded  friends when we meet to hear from local Democratic leaders about key issues and upcoming elections as well as our Featured Speaker, retired petroleum engineer-turned environmental activist and author, Bob Paredi.

 A student of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, Paredi received his engineering degree from UC Berkeley and spent much of his career among the oil derricks of Venezuela. He traveled the world on behalf of his employer, EXXON-Mobil, but then became an outspoken activist and author, studying lobbying and policy priorities of the oil and gas industries. He’ll discuss the present and future of oil drilling in the Gulf: what’s been learned, what’s been done, and what still needs to be done to prevent another devastating accident like Deepwater Horizon from ever happening again.
