October 10th Zoom Meeting – Sarasota City & County Commission Democratic Candidate Forum
Join the Democratic Club of Sarasota on Saturday, October 10th to meet the Democratic Sarasota City Commission candidates. Learn about their platforms, campaign strategies, and how you can help them win in November. Because of the structure of City races, we have two districts with two Democrats each running for the same seat. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn whom you want to support. The panel will be moderated by New College Associate Professor of Political Science and former Florida State House Representative, Keith Fitzgerald.
We will also hear from the Democratic candidates running for County Commission. It’s been 54 years since a Democrat was elected to this board! And, because of the overwhelming passage of the Single Member Districts initiative in 2018, it’s exciting to note that these candidates do not have to run countywide. Instead, they can focus their efforts in the district they will represent, with a greater chance of getting their message out to the voters and winning. A Democratic win for County Commission will be historic.

Saturday, October 10, 2020 – Program starts at 2:00 pm and will conclude at 3:30 pm ET. Join the meeting as early as 1:30 p.m. to socialize with fellow Democrats.
DEADLINE – Be sure to make your reservations no later than Thursday, October 8. The Zoom link will then be emailed to everyone with a reservation on Friday, October 9 and again, as a reminder, on Saturday morning.
