Join these two dynamic organizations – and like-minded Democratic friends and neighbors — when we come back together in person since the COVID social distancing rules have been relaxed for this special co-hosted event.

Hear from local Democratic leaders and our featured speaker, retired petroleum engineer turned environmental activist Bob Paredi to discuss the present and the future of oil drilling in the Gulf: what’s been learned, what’s been done, and what still needs to be done to prevent a devastating accident such as Deepwater Horizon from ever happening again.

A student of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, Paredi  received his engineering degree from UCBerkeley and spent much of his career among the oil derricks of Venezuela. He traveled the world on behalf of his employer, EXXON-Mobil, but then became an outspoken activist and author, studying lobbying and policy priorities of the oil and gas industries.
