MEET SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE LAUREN KURNOV ONLINE SATURDAY, APRIL 9

Democratic Club of Sarasota has hosted two of the three amazing School Board Candidates supported by the Sarasota County Democratic Party, Dawnyelle Singleton in February and Nora Cietek in March.

Born and raised in Sarasota and a proud attendee of our public schools, as are her two children, Lauren Kurnov M.S.W., Ed.D.  started working seven years ago at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee as Assistant Vice President and Director of Student Success. Here, she spearheaded numerous programs and partnerships connecting students to career opportunities in the community. Most recently, Lauren worked as an educational consultant with New College of Florida’s Office of Outreach and Inclusive Excellence and Student Affairs. She received her Doctor of Education from the University of South  Florida and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Lauren is running for the School Board seat in District 4.

Note: These candidates are not running against each other; they are each running for different seats. The Sarasota School Board election is the same day as the Florida primary, August 23, 2022.   

One more thing: Please be sure to do the easiest, most convenient and safest thing when it comes to voting and register to Vote By Mail. Even if you voted by mail before, contact the Supervisor of Elections at 941-861-8618 to confirm you are registered for VBM.
