DEMOCRATIC CLUB OF SARASOTA FEATURES DOCUMENTARY, “DANGEROUS LADIES: VOICES OF SUFFRAGISTS” MAY 14
Please join us for this important documentary, which first premiered at the Sarasota Film Festival in 2021. Dangerous Ladies: Voices of the Suffragists traverses the inspiring 72-year-long battle for the women’s right to vote in the United States as seen through the eyes of the Florida Studio Theatre’s Suffragist Project. This artistic celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment (August 20, 2020) was produced locally; directed by Kate Alexander, associate director of the Florida Studio Theatre and Charles Clapsaddle, METV station manager. The film features local artists and organizations including Ariel Blue, Carolyn Michel, Kim Crow, the Sarasota Choral Society, and many more who contributed to a deeper understanding of the struggle.

Action Tip: Be sure your Vote By Mail (VBM) status is current. The new law now requires VBM to be renewed every two years. If you voted by mail in March, you should be okay through 2022. If you’re not sure, double check at SarasotaVotes.gov. We have a critical election coming up on August 23 for School Board Candidates and the Primary for Governor and Senator of Florida. You want to be able to send in a Vote By Mail ballot…if you’re not in town or just in case.
Thank you for supporting Democrats and the Democratic Club of Sarasota. Please be sure to let us know if you’re interested in joining the Board of Directors or getting involved
