June 9th Old Fashioned Democratic Political Picnic at Myakka State Park

In June we will join the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Sarasota and the Democratic Women’s Club of Sarasota at Myakka State Park on the 9th from noon to 3 p.m. for an old fashioned Democratic picnic!

We will hear from Sarasota County environmental experts speaking on the following topics:

– Climate change –This Spaceship Earth

– Green energy – Sarasota-Manatee Solar Initiative

– Sustainable energy – Sierra Club’s Ready for 100

We will also get to meet and hear from Democratic candidates, while sharing a meal and building connections with likeminded neighbors.

WHERE: Myakka State Park South Pavilion – 13208 State Rd 72,                             Sarasota, FL 34241 – 9 miles east of I-75 off SR 72 (Clark                           Road)

  WHEN: Saturday, June 9th, 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

   COST: Myakka State Park entrance fee – Vehicle with a single                                person is $4, with 2 – 8 people is $6

Myakka State Park Information:

– Raised stage with PA system, large covered pavilion with picnic             tables

– Playground, restrooms, and grills

– Alcohol NOT permitted

Picnic Information:

– The Sarasota County Democratic Party will provide hot dog, buns,        condiments, and water.

– Bring a side dish or dessert to share (If you tape your name and             recipe on the bottom of the container, it will be included in the               DWCSC picnic cookbook!)

– Feel free to bring your own personal food

– Bring chairs or blankets, sunscreen, hats, and bug spray!
