Sold out!!! February 8th Meeting Featuring Dr. Terry Root on Changing Climate: Our Changing World
EVENT AT CAPACITY. RESERVATIONS ARE CLOSED. Join us on Saturday, February 8th, as we welcome Dr. Terry Root, Professor Emerita at Stanford University, to speak on the greatest challenge that we face today. Back-to-back 100-year floods, extended droughts, and the polar vortex are all connected to the disruption of our climate due to greenhouse gas emissions. Dr. Root will discuss the science behind our changing climate and how plants, animals and humans are affected. She will also share what we can do, collectively and individually, to mitigate this crisis.
Dr. Root was a lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change 4th Assessment Report that in 2007 was co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with Vice President Al Gore. Don’t miss this chance to hear from a lauded expert in the study of climate change.
Club elections will also be held at this meeting.
